|Contact Me||For the past nine years, Donna has been involved with the planning and design
of outpatient rehabilitation facilities that specialize in orthotics and prosthetics. This patient population has
grown with the advent of safety regulations that have saved many lives, but often leave bodies that are forever
transformed by chronic pain, disfigurement and reduced mobility. It is Donna’s quest as a leader in the deign field
to explore how the use of well designed built environments can maximize the quality of life and human performance.
Well versed in all phases of project management, Donna has completed over three hundred outpatient facility projects across the United States. Her reputation is well established as a coordinator of people and resources that create extraordinary environments.
Having over 15 years experience, Donna spent the early part of her career in contract furniture, specializing in the design and layout of commercial office spaces. This perspective drives a sensitivity to the fine details that make a space truly functional for the client.
A Certified Interior Designer in the state of California, Donna earned a certificate in Interior Design from University of California, Riverside. She holds a BS from Montclair University in Industrial Arts, where she was awarded as “Outstanding Student” for 1981.
Donna is a former president of the California Inland Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers for the years 1997- 1998 and continues give generously of her time to several worthy causes and community projects.
Donna has been chosen as a founding member of the Leadership Council for the CARITAS Project, an international community devoted to advocating, promoting and supporting the development of spaces that are sustainable expressions of valuing human dignity. The first demonstration project is to begin in the spring of 2002 in Manchester, England.
Donna is principal of Johansen Design with an office in Canyon Lake, a unique private city in California. She resides there with her husband Jerry and their son David. They enjoy water skiing and kayaking.
